“The Morning After” and “Chalk” at Portobello Film Festival

The Portobello Film Festival is being very good to us this year, with four seperate screenings! “The Morning After” will be showing three times during the festival:

- 8pm on Friday 3 September
- 8pm on Thursday 9 September
- 3pm on Saturday 18 September

While the music video “Chalk” will be part of the London Filmmakers Convention at 7pm on Tuesday 7 September. All the screenings take place a Westbourne Studios and I hope you will join us for at least one of them!

“Bad Penny” continues its run of brilliant festivals this summer, landing in Norfolk for the BBC Norfolk Music Video Festival 2010, running from 28 June until 10 July. It’s the only Music Video Festival of its kind in the country and supported by Radio 1. This year the Festival links up with BBC Introducing programmes around the UK to bring you the very best videos from new and emerging acts.

“Bad Penny” nominated for Rushes Music Video Award

“Bad Penny”, the video for punk vaudeville band Jarmean? directed by yours truly, has just been nominated for the 2010 Music Video Award, Rushes Soho Shorts. Screening alongside Faithless, Gorrilaz, Tom Waits and Laura Marling at the ICA on Friday 23 and Sunday 25 July. That’s two years in a row for me, following last year’s nomination for “Chalk”!

Recently named ‘Best of MySpace’ by NME radio’s Gill Mills, this Whitechapel set have been building a loyal following of cockney rap aficionados. The video features burlesque artiste Ophelia Bitz in the role of ‘Penny’, actor Kathryn Ritchie as the beggar girl and Lola, the dog!

The video has also been featured as an exclusive on MUZU, showcased on RADAR MUSIC VIDEO and enjoyed its moment of glory in industry bible PROMO NEWS.

Proudly presenting the brand new video for punk vaudeville band Jarmean? in anticipation of the release of their single “Bad Penny” in early May. Recently named ‘Best of MySpace’ by NME radio’s Gill Mills, this Whitechapel set have been steadily building a loyal following of cockney rap aficionados.

The video features burlesque artiste Ophelia Bitz in the role of ‘Penny’, actor Kathryn Ritchie as the ‘beggar girl’ and Lola, the dog. “The Morning After” selected for FilmFest Dresden

Black comedy “The Morning After” has been selected for FilmFest Dresden, as part of the popular British Focus programme ‘Deadly Encounters’. It will be showing three times during the festival: on the opening night, Tuesday 20 April at 8pm, followed by a late night showing on the Friday at 12.30am, with the final screening on Sunday 25 April at 8pm. The programme will then continue to tour across various cities in May. I will be there presenting the film, so if you plan to attend, do get in touch!

“The Morning After” has been selected as part of the March Rotoreliefs programme and screens at the Roxy Bar & Screen in Borough on 24 March, 7pm. Directors and/or key crew will be coming to talk about their work so it’s also an opportunity to mingle with like-minded people and filmmakers. Entry is only £3.

“The Morning After” has been selected to screen by the 7th London Short Film Festival in the aptly titled category ‘F*cked Up Love’. A twisted tale about a night a drunk-dialler with come to regret, with Charlotte Cawthorne, Lennard Sillevis, Andrei Zayats and V.O. by Paul Huntingford.
