The ‘Gents’ up for Rushes Music Video Award

June 2011 by

Gentlemen in Squalor my latest music video for purveyors of filthy swing Top Shelf Jazz which was released on 19 May, has racked up 17,000 hits so far and, as of today – two music video award nominations!

It has just been nominated for the music video category, Rushes Soho Shorts. There were 1200 entries from 53 countries and we are up against the likes of The XX, Gorrilaz and David Lynch! This is a pretty special nomination for me as it marks the third year in a row that a music video I have been directed is up for the award, following nominations for Chalk and Bad Penny and 2009 and 2010. The screenings will take place on Friday 22 and Monday 25 July at the ICA.

Earlier this week we also found out that the video has been nominated for the Limelight Film and Arts Awards taking place on 23 June at Troxy. Roll on the Gents!
